The NB PTSA meets four times each school year at 7:30 p.m. in the Media Center. Mark your calendars now for the first business meeting on Mon., Sept. 24, 2012. We'll adopt a budget, examine results of our parent survey, and get an update from Principal Alton Sumner.
NBMS 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Ice Skate Night at Cabin John Ice RinkSaturday, November, 17, 2012 6:30 – 8:00 PM A special invitation to all North Bethesda students: Come on out and enjoy our private ice time, just for the NBMS! The cost is $5.00 per skater or $8.25 if you want to rent skates. You will receive a wristband at Cabin John for admission to the ice rink. Please submit registration to school with your check, made out to NBMS PTSA, by November 14th. The snack bar will be open for the purchase of drinks/snacks. It is suggested that skaters wear appropriate clothing, including gloves. Anyone skating on the ice during our private ice time of 6:30 – 8:00PM must buy a ticket through North Bethesda PTSA. A limited number of wristbands will be available ‘at the door’, advanced registration is strongly encouraged. Adult supervision will be provided by North Bethesda Parent Volunteers and the Cabin John Skate Guards. Save the date! NBMS Showdown and Silent Auction Fundraiser is Friday, March 15th, 2013 at Walter Johnson High School. Donation Information: The 7th Annual North Bethesda Middle School (NBMS) Showdown (students vs school staff) and Silent Auction Fundraiser is Friday, March 15th, 2013. While the student vs. staff basketball game is sure to be an exciting match, the event is also an important fundraiser for our school. We are looking for donations from the NBMS community to help make the 2013 event the best yet.
How can you help? Consider donating something you or your company makes, or gift certificates for products or services that represent your business. In the past the auction has featured hand made jewelry, tickets to the theater and sport events, memorabilia, artwork, bike tours, vacation rentals, artwork, gift certificates for restaurants, spa services, fitness training, music lessons, catering services and more. The event is well attended by NBMS families, and auction items are listed online starting in late January, so it’s a great way to showcase your talents, or the products or services offered by your company to our community.
We use the money raised to improve after school programs and fund grants to teachers for classroom needs, as well as to enable all children to participate on field trips. Donations are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged with a note and receipt that can be used for tax purposes.
